Four samples of N. norvegicus from different areas were analyzed through five specie-specific microsatellite loci. Good levels of genetic polymorphism were identified. Mean observed heterozygosity ranged from 0.447 to 0.942 and mean number of alleles per locus from 9 to 40. Low and homogeneous values of pairwise fixation indices account for the absence of genetic differentiation among samples, suggesting the need of coordinated management plan among Adriatic coastal countries.
