The aim of the paper is to describe Giuseppe Raimondi’s contribution on art criticism, expanding the chronology put forward by previous studies and underlining the socio-political intentions of his work, as well as his personal passion for painting and drawing. The study is primarily based on the analysis of the correspondence housed in his private archive, which testifies to the wide variety of his relationships with some of the most famous Italian artists and art historians of the 20th century.
