In ancient cultures, sanctuaries’s treasuries and holy furnishings belonged to a double semantic and ritual register: on the one hand, to the routes of the exchange with the invisible world; on the other, to the concrete systems of goods’s trade and circulation. The topic will be analysed with regard to the establishment of a typically Christian logic for the salvific exchange, between Late Antiquity and the Central Middle Ages. This logic involved the iconic and visual representation of the invisible by reliquaries and the other ways of treasuring and capitalizing the salvific value
