The present book represent the final report of a research project aimed to give an answer to the need to fill the gaps in professional qualification, and it increases significantly the knowledge/skills of low qualified workers (men and women), particularly in terms of basic skills related to digital literacy and technical-professional knowledge (sector culture, technologies and techniques that are linked to daily practices). The users targeted need to become the focus of the teaching/learning process, they must have the possibility to enjoy conditions of autonomy and need training pathways that are essentially customized, active pedagogy and collaborative and measurable learning. Therefore, the need to respond to it is linked to a learning process that is strongly tight to a socio-cultural context, that is potentially not separated in time and space from the working activity, but is manageable according to times that are tailored to users’ characteristics, both in terms of organization and individual learning times. The project described has pursued the following aims: - to improve the quality of continuing vocational training and the opportunity to access it on the part of a type of end users (low qualified workers) that are definitely not represented among potential users of the blended learning pathways currently available on the market. - Acquire long-life skills and competences on the part of workers, with the aim of broaden and develop the flexibility of people in order to cope with technological and organizational innovations. The book represent the final project report, and it plan, test, validate and disseminate a training path aiming at the acquisition of basic skills relative to digital literacy (addressed in particular to workers – men and women- with no knowledge and competences on ICT) and of knowledge and professional skills which support employability in the metal sector, by means of blended learning methods involving the implementation of innovative e-learning didactic contents based on use of an open source platform (Moodle).
