This article retraces the corpus of Spanish poets translated by Leonardo Sciascia between 1957 and 1961, focusing on texts which have received less critical attention (the Quattro poeti religiosi spagnoli, including Gonzalo Álvarez and Victoriano Crémer reproduced in an appendix) or which have been unknown until now (a sonnet by Carlos Bousoño). In the light of Sciascia’s discourses on translation, the article seeks to provisionally take stock of the limitations and the stylistic oscillations of his translation in practice.

Abstract
This article retraces the corpus of Spanish poets translated by Leonardo Sciascia between 1957 and 1961, focusing on texts which have received less critical attention (the Quattro poeti religiosi spagnoli, including Gonzalo Álvarez and Victoriano Crémer reproduced in an appendix) or which have been unknown until now (a sonnet by Carlos Bousoño). In the light of Sciascia’s discourses on translation, the article seeks to provisionally take stock of the limitations and the stylistic oscillations of his translation in practice.File in questo prodotto:
