This contribution reports a research expereince on the design of innovative educational spaces aimed to fostering psychophysical development, personal growth and intergenerational relations, in an active and participatory sense. The methodology used is the action-research which involved: pupils and teachers of primary and secondary schools of the city of Pesaro, the local administration, artistic-cultural assosiations, exzperts and local professionals in the realization of an education project. The research has produced a path of educational innovation according to the 'sistema formativo allargato', aimed at enhancing the resources of the territory and redeveloping an urban space.
