The intention of this paper is to summarize, what countermeasures are needed to mitigate the threat of electronic passports with morphed images. This paper indicates, what Frontex and the concerned national governments can and should do as short term and as long term countermeasures. The suggestions presented in this contribution are based on the discussions of the SOTAMD and iMARS project consortia which proposed a harmonized European approach to tackle the morphing attack threat with joint forces from industry, academia and governmental agencies.
