Robert Spaemann e la normatività del reale

The current essay aims at understanding the notions of 'normal' and 'pathological' on the grounds of the historical-theoretical reconstruction of the crisis and rediscovery of theological thought made by Robert Spaemann (1927-2018) in Naturliche Ziele. A meaningful and vital experience of the real ultimately depends on the rehabilitation of telos, which also makes possible the full intelligibility of the real in a way that escapes the dialectics between two opposed forms of reductionism, namely: naturalism and spiritualism. It is only the background of a similar understanding of the self and the world, which are the object of both the philsophical tradition overall and the sociological reflection of Emil Durkheim, Max Weber, and Max Scheler, by whom Spaemann is inspired, that the distinction between 'normality' and 'pathology' avoids losing its rooting in life as such

Il presente contributo si prefigge lo scopo di ricondurre i concetti di “normale” e “patologico” alla ricostruzione storico-teoretica della crisi e riscoperta del pensiero teleologico che Robert Spaemann (1927-2018) ha operato in Natürliche Ziele. Dalla riabilitazione del telos dipende, in ultima analisi, l’esperienza sensata e vitale del reale e, dunque, la sua piena intelligibilità sottratta alla dialettica tra due opposte forme di riduzionismo: il naturalismo e lo spiritualismo. Solo sullo sfondo di una simile comprensione di sé e del mondo, oggetto tanto della tradizione filosofica nel suo insieme quanto della riflessione sociologica di Émile Durkheim, Max Weber e Max Scheler, cui Spaemann mostra di attingere, la distinzione tra “normalità” e “patologia” non perderà il suo radicamento nella vita in quanto tale.
