Materiali per uno studio della Vita di san Giovanni nel pozzo nella tradizione greca e armena

Identification of a new Greek manuscript of 10th century of an hagiographical text that dates in late antiquity, the "Vita Johannis in puteo". Overview of the textual transmission of the work in different languages. Through a detailed analysis of four Greek redactions (two of them are still in manuscript form) and two old Armenian translations, documentary materials has been collected for a better understanding of the rewriting process that the Greek text has undergone. The comparison with the Greek redactions testifies the impressive level of precision and the stylistic pecularities of the Armenian. The Italian translation of both old Armenian translations (by Sirinian and Moratelli) is the first in a modern language.
