To date, no treatment has proven to be effective for severe ocular graft-vs-host disease (GVHD) after allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation that leads to conjunctivalization and keratinization of the cornea through damage of conjunctival goblet cells and limbal epithelial stem cells (LESCs). We report the outcomes of chimerism induced by transplantation from the same living-related bone marrow donor of conjunctiva and LESCs in 4 eyes of 2 patients with severe ocular GVHD.

Abstract
To date, no treatment has proven to be effective for severe ocular graft-vs-host disease (GVHD) after allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation that leads to conjunctivalization and keratinization of the cornea through damage of conjunctival goblet cells and limbal epithelial stem cells (LESCs). We report the outcomes of chimerism induced by transplantation from the same living-related bone marrow donor of conjunctiva and LESCs in 4 eyes of 2 patients with severe ocular GVHD.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
