Quando la plusdotazione non porta al successo scolastico

There are a few studies (Renzulli, 1977; Pfeiffer, in press) on the topic of giftedness highlighting an aspect which has to date been investigated very little: that regarding the discrepancy between capabilities and school success found in students defined as gifted underachievers. Following a brief description of the problem, we shall present some research data (Baum et al., 1995b), which we can be drawn upon for useful methodological reflections on how to deal with lack of motivation to study from an inclusive perspective.

All’interno della tematica sulla plusdotazione alcune ricerche (Renzulli, 1977) mettono in luce un aspetto ancora poco investigato quale quello legato alla discrepanza tra capacità e successo scolastico rilevato in studenti definiti gifted underachievers. Dopo una breve descrizione della problematica, si riportano i dati di una ricerca (Baum et al., 1995b) in base ai quali si possono trarre utili riflessioni metodologiche per affrontare situazioni di demotivazione allo studio in chiave inclusiva.
