In Italy there is an ancient and good literary tradition of aphorisms, especially prosperous in Twentieth-century. The tpwn of Trieste was the homeland of many aphorists: Italo Tavolato, Umberto Saba, Francesco Burdin and Francesco Grisogono, the grandfather of the well-known writer Claudio Magris. Grisogono (1861-1921) wrote a lot of aphorisms published posthumous in 1944 in the book entitled "Lampi del pensiero". In this essay Ruozzi presents and analyzes these interesting aphoristic's sayings.
