Geological map of the Friuli upper plain and the Tagliamento moraine amphitheatre

The map provides good evidence of the spatial relationships among the widespread Upper Pleistocene glacial, fluvioglacial and fluvial deposits in the classic area of the uppermost Friuli plain. The map has been the fundamental start point to evaluate the Pleistocene fluvial pattern and the abrupt changes the drainage experienced throughout the transition from Late Pleistocene to Holocene.
