Abstract
The Friuli was one of the northern Italian regions that hosted the most ancient Jewish presence of that area thanks to Aquileia, a city that, together with Venice, was an important gateway to Europe. In this study are listed the funerary tombstones survived from this area, as well as the funerary lamps with menorah of the late Roman period 4th-5th cent., which have been found or are kept in the Museums of Friuli. Interested in the re-reading of Scarlatta's epitaph, the daughter of Abraham, dated December 23, 1139, one year before the date proposed by the first publisher of it, and with a more complete reading. It is the oldest funerary stone in northern Italy in Hebrew letters.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
