In this talk the capability of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer is discusses. For this purpose, a novel compact, single-port antenna combining both UWB and UHF bands is presented. The presented solution allows to communicate and localize through UWB technology while recovering energy in the UHF band The UWB communication is obtained through an Archimedean spiral topology, while energy harvesting at UHF is possible by suitably extending the spiral outer arms. The fundamental role of a frequency diplexing/matching network is deeply discussed. A promising solution on paper substrate of the entire system is also presented.
