The present study aims to validate pushover methodology for RC frame structures by comparison with Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA). Different pushover procedures have been considered, i.e., conventional (first mode load distribution, uniform distribution) and adaptive pushover method (DAP). With reference to three case studies, comparison of static against dynamic results has been performed in terms of capacity curves, interstorey drift profiles, max top displacements and failure modes.

Abstract

The present study aims to validate pushover methodology for RC frame structures by comparison with Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA). A high number of simulated response spectrum compatible time-histories has been used to perform incremental dynamic analyses.
