After having highlighted the multiplication of subjects and roles currently lying under the broad-spectrum term ‘pupils of foreigner origin’, in the present chapter I will present some preliminary results of a recent inquiry I’m carrying out in the Province of Trento about their school success. By discussing the results of this reseach, I will introduce the issue of social justice education as educational paradigm nowadays particularly suitable for dealing with the current educational needs of diverse and unequal societies.
