The process of European integration has led to the creation of a transnational space and to the introduction and gradual extension of peculiar laws that allow the right to move and freely reside in Europe to all the European citizens. This opportunity is especially experienced by the young Europeans who, on the basis of more and more subjectively oriented reasons, frequently decide to spend a period of their life abroad, consequently creating a new category of migrants, characterized by particular identitymaking processes. The article explores these themes through the critical analysis of recently published contributions on the topics of youth mobility in Europe.

Abstract
The process of European integration has led to the creation of a transnational space and to the introduction and gradual extension of peculiar laws that allow the right to move and freely reside in Europe to all the European citizens. This opportunity is especially experienced by the young Europeans who, on the basis of more and more subjectively oriented reasons, frequently decide to spend a period of their life abroad, consequently creating a new category of migrants, characterized by particular identitymaking processes. The article explores these themes through the critical analysis of recently published contributions on the topics of youth mobility in Europe.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
