Aim of this study was to evaluate tolerability and the healing of ocular tissues using a synthetic surgical glue, a co-monomer of N-Butyl-2-Cyanoacrylate (Glubran2), in perspective to treat lesions of the anterior segment of globe. Lesions performed of the sclera of 6 rabbits where occluded with Glubran2. The eyes where evaluated clinically and histologically. The glue demonstrated a good adhesivity and a good biocompatibility offering a good cicatrization. These results suggest that this surgical adhesive may find application in the surgery of the anterior segment of the globe (cornea).

Abstract
Aim of this study was to evaluate tolerability and the healing of ocular tissues using a synthetic surgical glue, a co-monomer of N-Butyl-2-Cyanoacrylate (Glubran2), in perspective to treat lesions of the anterior segment of globe. Lesions performed of the sclera of 6 rabbits where occluded with Glubran2. The eyes where evaluated clinically and histologically. The glue demonstrated a good adhesivity and a good biocompatibility offering a good cicatrization. These results suggest that this surgical adhesive may find application in the surgery of the anterior segment of the globe (cornea).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
