ELETTRA PROPOSAL DESCRIPTION Proposal number: 20155185 Title: Copper nitroprusside cathode for Li and Na batteries: structural and electronic studies by operando X-ray Powder Diffraction and XAFS Proposer: Marco GIORGETTI Beamline(s): MCX Required shifts: 15 Objectives: Combined X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray powder diffraction experiments (XRPD) are used to study a newly prepared copper nitruprusside cathode for rechargeable Li and Na batteries. This study, using both MCX and XAFS beamlines, will be performed in operando mode and will permit to monitor both local atomic structure and charge associated to the Fe and Cu (XAS) and to check the crystalline domain size and shape and lattice defects (XRPD) of the cathode materials during a full galvanostatic cycle.
