Over 85 articles were submitted to the 5th Mediterrenean Conference for Research in Mathematics Education of which 54 accepted after the evaluation based on the review of two members of the scientific committe. The articles cover a variety of topics such as, Representation and Visualisation in Mathematics Education, Problem Solving in Mathematics Education, Web Based Environments and New Technologies in Mathematics Education, History and Philosophy of Mathematics, Mathematics Teacher Education - Beleifs and Motivation, Different Approaches in Research in Mathematics Education, Mathematics Education and Topics in Teaching Mathematics and Sciences and we hope that the present volume will contribute to a fruitful and constructive exchange of ideas regarding contemporary issues in Mathematics Education.
