High sewer network reliability is an important and mandatory requirement that must be satisfied under field conditions. The reliability of a system is a measure of the probability that the system is functional through some entire period of time. A buried sewer pipe is subject to a large number of influences difficult to predict in advance, since they are random and characterized by significant variability. These factors adversely affect sewer network reliability.
