This paper implements previous researches on the renewal of business ties and their connections with the selection process in terms of how they affect networks managed by organisations with regard to their customers/suppliers (C/S). The current crisis is forcing company management to change their selection of business tie models according to the need for maintenance of their on-going concern. In this emergency situation the more careful selection is frequently applied to a decreasing number of potential C/S owing to the companies’ critical perspectives and/or to the out-going of restructured enterprises from some sectors and activities. The logic consequence is a reduction in the longevity of business ties. This leads to a deep organisational change of the networks in which they operate. The paper explores the influence of different quantities of inputs on the longevity of such ties according to different selection trends connected with the age of the business under consideration. We want to demonstrate, and this is reflected in the main research question, that the reduction in the number of new entries into business, affects the continuity of ties in the C/S network managed by organisations.
