We developed a novel enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to detect the specific IgG response to Usutu virus (USUV) in humans, by evaluating 367 blood donors who were living in northeastern Italy. Our results demonstrate the presence of an anti-USUV response in 4 subjects with no history of other flavivirus infection.
