Illustrated through a case study, which employed both analysis techniques and a purely sociological methodology, this article aims to examine one housing policy and in particular the Self Build Partnership Project, ‘Un Tetto per tutti’, which is currently underway in three areas in the City and District of Ravenna, courtesy of the non-governmental organisation, ‘Alisei’ in Milan. This article will consist of four logical stages and a conclusion. Firstly, a brief description of the association and promoter of the project, ‘Alisei’, will be provided (part 2). Secondly, the basic principles behind the methodology of the Self Build Partnership and its self-regeneration will be discussed (part 3). Thirdly, the project ‘Un Tetto per tutti’ will be analysed (part 4). The fourth passage consists of a critique on the project and on the information collected in the case study (part 5) and lastly (part 6), a few conclusive considerations will be proposed.
