Objectives To bring out recommendations applied to diseases of interest in rehabilitation, through a literature review based on scientific evidence of Physical Therapy. Methods Literature review. Consulted Databases: PEDro, PubMed, Cochrane and Ovid. RCTs and their systematic reviews published from 2000 onwards, in English, were considered. Articles that were not controlled RCT, papers with a PEDro score of less than 4/10 and a score of less than 2, according to the SPREAD, scale were excluded. Results and Discussion A team of three authors independently carried out the identification of the articles, the selection of studies and the extraction of the data. The search found 45 articles which have been classified according to the PEDro and SPREAD scale and in relation to the diseases most frequently treated in the scientific literature (carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, low-back pain, osteoarthritis, bone fracture, stroke). Conclusions Ultrasounds (US) are recommended both for the carpal tunnel and the bone fracture, but not for tendinopathy. Laser (Low Level Laser or LLL) is recommended for carpal tunnel and tendonitis. TENS is recommended for the treatment of osteoarthritis but not for low back pain. IFT and HT currents are recommended for low-back pain and FES is recommended for the treatment of plantar foot drop after stroke. Whole Body Vibration (WBV) is recommended for the prevention of bone fractures and also for the recovery of patients with stroke.
