The aim of this volume is to study some of the main problems of fingerprint-based biometric systems (i.e., acquisition devices quality- certification, fingerprint recognition algorithms and performance evaluation of fingerprint recognition systems) and to provide innovative solutions developed by the author during his research activities and experimentations in the field.
