Abstract

There is an increasing interest in H2 production and use by a coupling catalytic processes with dense hydrogen membranes separation in simultaneous or sequential steps. The key point of these technologies is the synthesis of membranes based on a thin Pd (or Pd-.alloy) film on a ceramic and metallic support with stable behaviour and tailored features. The mambrane film can be produced by using coating techniques (electroless plating, sputtering or MOVCD) that although widely employed present some drawbacks. In this study it is reported and discussed a new preparation method known as "base electrogeneration", evidencin the advantages in the preparation of tailored Pd seeds/inorganic multilayers on structured metallic fibres.
